Product Description
16" x 16" ADC-BAC-FRI-DF Fire-Rated Insulated Access Door with Mud-In Flange
When hanging drywall, there are no shortcuts; achieving a smooth finish requires careful attention, patience, and focus. The 16" x 16" ADC-BAC-FRI-DF Fire-Rated Insulated Access Door with Mud-In Flange is specifically designed for fire-rated walls—making the drywall hanging process more efficient. Made of sturdy 16-gauge steel, it has a fire rating of up to 2 hours for commercial and residential projects.
Whether you're installing new drywall or working with existing fire-rated structures, the ADC-BAC-FRI-DF is a perfect fit. It has exposed, perforated flanges that can be taped and mudded over joints or drywall.
After taping the joints, apply your chosen compound to the flanges for easy adhesion to the drywall surface, resulting in a beautiful, seamless finish. Once the process is complete, only the panel door is visible, giving a polished appearance.
Why You Should Choose the 16" x 16" ADC-BAC-FRI-DF:
- Streamlines Mudding: ADC-BAC-FRI-DF simplifies the mudding process with its exposed flanges, perforated to accept tape and drywall mudding compound. This design ensures easier adhesion, precise placement, and a polished finish.
- Fire-Rated Assurance: FRI-DF is a fire-rated access door, holding a fire rating of up to 2 hours on rated vertical wall assemblies, certified to U.L. standards.
- Self-Latching Convenience: Following NFPA 80 standards, FRI-DF features a self-latching mechanism, providing hands-free and hassle-free operation through its spring mechanism.
- Installation Control: Designed for installation during the drywall installation process, FRI-DF allows greater control over exposed joints. The flanges serve as guides when installing within existing structures.
- Concealed Elegance: FRI-DF ensures a nearly invisible finish with perforated outer flanges, leaving only the panel door exposed once fully installed.
- Thermal Insulation: FRI-DF incorporates mineral wool insulation, enhancing its fire rating and improving your application's thermal properties.
- LEED Certification Support: This access door contributes to LEED certification, tax credits, and eligibility for benefits, aligning with LEED V4 credits.
The ADC-BAC-FRI fire-rated access door ensures safety with a 2" thick mineral-insulated, self-latching panel door made from 16 and 20-gauge cold-rolled steel. It helps preserve integrity during emergencies and limits the spread of smoke and flames.
The 2 1/2-inch frame is thicker than most, transforming a roughly cut installation into a polished addition to your portfolio. FRI comes ready for use with a high-quality white powder coat primer, allowing easy customization for a perfect blend.
