The ADC-DSH-A Aluminum Cover with Galvanized Curb Automatic Double Leaf Smoke Vent is a necessary equipment that should be a part of all commercial buildings that have flammable materials inside.
The vent covers automatically release when the UL-listed 165°F fusible link melts. The roof hatch's frame and cover are 14 gauge G-90 paint bond galvanized aluminum cover and steel curb. You can also choose another variant, which is an aluminum cover and frame that is 11 gauge. It has an extruded EPDM rubber gasket that's permanently adhered to the curb. They have heavy-duty pintle hinges with 3/8" Type 316 stainless aluminum cover and steel curb hinge pins.
The latch of this roof hatch has a positive hold/release mechanism, ensuring reliability during an event of a fire inside the building. Moreover, it can hold the covers closed against a 90 psf wind uplift force, ensuring it will stay close during heavy winds. And when released, high-performance gas springs open the covers against a ten psf snow/wind load and locks the cover in an open position. The gas springs have internal dampers, assuring that the opening is at a controlled rate.
