ADC-BAC-IVH
ADC-BAC-IVH Invisa Hatch Drywall Inlay Fully Detachable
The ADC-BAC-IVH Invisa Hatch Drywall Inlay Fully Detachable from Best Access Doors is a non-rated drywall access panel designed for seamless wall and ceiling integration. It provides reliable access to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems without tearing down or cutting into finished surfaces.
Designed with a drywall inlay door and concealed hardware, the access panel maintains a minimal 1/16" reveal for a nearly invisible appearance. When service access is required, the open hinge design allows the hatch to be fully removed for unrestricted workspace.
A welded high-grade aluminum frame and door ensure long-term structural performance. The standard moisture- and mildew-resistant greenboard inlay supports durability in various interior environments and is compatible with ½" and ⅝" drywall.
Standard sizes range from 8" x 8" to 24" x 36" to cover most access requirements. Custom sizing is also available up to 60" on one side with a 160" maximum perimeter for non-standard openings.

Why Choose the ADC-BAC-IVH?
- Unrestricted Service Access: The fully detachable door removes from the frame, giving trades clear, unobstructed access to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or low-voltage systems in tight spaces.
- Seamless Drywall Integration: With concealed hardware and a narrow 1/16" reveal, the access panel blends into finished drywall. Once taped, mudded, and painted, it maintains a clean appearance suitable for commercial offices, healthcare facilities, retail environments, and high-end residential projects.
- Durable Aluminum Construction: The welded aluminum frame resists corrosion and warping. Paired with moisture-resistant greenboard inlay, it holds up well in humid or fluctuating interior conditions.
- Controlled and Secure Operation: Touch latches allow quick, tool-free access, while safety chains or cables help prevent sudden door movement during servicing. For projects requiring additional security, multiple locking options are available to meet security or access control requirements.
- Flexible Sizing for Project Demands: Available in standard and custom sizes, the ADC-BAC-IVH adapts to diverse layouts. Larger panels can be manufactured to meet extended perimeter requirements.
Installation Steps
- Identify the Location: Find the ideal installation spot and mark the positions of any nearby studs or joists. Measure the inside frame dimensions and add ¾" (9 mm) to each side to get the rough opening size.
- Cut the Opening: Using a set square, draw two perpendicular lines on the wall or ceiling, positioned 1¼"–4" (32–102 mm) from any stud or joist. After confirming the lines are square, cut a clean opening with a drywall saw or utility knife.
- Fasten the Panel: Insert the access panel through the opening and pull it back firmly into place. Drive screws through the drywall into the panel frame, keeping them no more than 4" (102 mm) apart.
- Test and Finish the Surface: Check that the door opens and closes properly, then apply drywall compound separately to the hatch and wall.
- Install the Safety Cable: Wipe down the frame and door with a damp cloth, then install the safety cable to complete the installation.
