ADC-BAC-IVT
ADC-BAC-IVT Invisa Hatch™ Drywall Inlay for Wall Tiling
The ADC-BAC-IVT Invisa Hatch™ Drywall Inlay for Wall Tiling from Best Access Doors eliminates the need to remove or replace tile when accessing concealed building systems. This recessed access panel allows tile to be installed directly to the door surface for a seamless look.
A welded high-grade aluminum frame provides structural durability, while the moisture- and mildew-resistant greenboard inlay supports performance in bathrooms, kitchens, and other high-humidity environments. The access panel is compatible with ½" and ⅝" drywall assemblies and features a narrow ⅛" (3 mm) reveal that aligns cleanly with grout lines once installed.
Concealed touch latches enable smooth top-to-bottom operation without visible hardware, and safety chains are included on access panels 12" x 12" and larger for added control. Designed for wall applications only, the ADC-BAC-IVT is available in standard and custom sizes for specific tile layouts and access requirements.

Why Should You Use the ADC-BAC-IVT?
- Maintains a Clean Tiled Finish: The tile-ready inlay allows the access door to blend into surrounding wall surfaces. With a precise ⅛" (3 mm) reveal that aligns with grout lines, the access panel remains discreet after installation.
- Reduces Future Repair Work: By providing direct access behind tiled walls, the ADC-BAC-IVT helps prevent costly tile removal and replacement during maintenance or inspections. This saves time, labour, and material costs in the long run.
- Designed for Moisture-Prone Areas: The moisture- and mildew-resistant greenboard inlay makes the access panel suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, and similar environments where humidity is a concern.
- Offers Secure, Controlled Operation: Concealed touch latches eliminate visible hardware, maintaining a clean appearance while allowing quick access. Safety chains on larger access panels provide additional support when handling heavier tiled doors.
- Accommodates Project-Specific Layouts: Available in standard and custom dimensions, the ADC-BAC-IVT can be sized to tile patterns and maintenance access points without oversizing the opening.
Installation Steps
- Identify the Location: Find the ideal installation spot and mark the positions of any nearby studs or joists. Measure the inside frame dimensions and add 3/8" (9 mm) to each side to determine the rough opening size.
- Cut the Opening: Using a set square, draw two perpendicular lines on the wall or ceiling, keeping them 1¼"–4" (32–102 mm) from any stud or joist. Mark the opposite sides using the measurements, confirm all lines are square, then cut a clean opening.
- Fasten the Panel: Detach the door hatch and fit the frame on its own. If fitting into a wall, make sure the latches face upward. Insert the frame through the opening and pull it back firmly into place. Drive screws into the panel frame, keeping them no more than 4" (102 mm) apart.
- Apply the Tile: Check that the door opens and closes properly, then apply tile separately to the hatch and wall.
- Install the Safety Cable: Wipe the frame and door with a damp cloth to clear away any grout, then install the safety cable.
