From our current featured items, we have the fire rated insulated access door with drywall flange - Cendrex. PFI-GYP is specially designed to be installed on fire rated drywall covered ceilings and walls. Once a sufficient layer of drywall compound is applied to its corner bead flange, it will leave only the door panel visible for a more aesthetic look. The largest fire rated PFI-GYP doors available for vertical and horizontal installations are respectively: (48" x 48") and (24" x 36" or 864 sq inches).
If you need an attic access door with an upward opening, consider installing the PFU access door designed for fire rated ceilings only. It can easily replace spring loaded models like the PFI. Its door which does not exceed 89 degrees of upward opening, falls back by the law of gravity into its locked position as required by fire certification standards. Holding the door open while climbing through it becomes much easier with no springs to deal with. The largest fire rated PFU available is: (24" x 36" or 864 sq inches).
