ADC-F1 Drywall Inlay Access Panel with Fixed Hinges
The ADC-F1 Drywall Inlay Access Panel with Fixed Hinges by FF Systems is a flush access solution for walls and ceilings that require concealed openings to building systems. It's designed for commercial and institutional projects where maintaining a seamless finish is essential.
Built with high-grade aluminum inner and outer frames, the panel works with ½" and ⅝" inlayed drywall. The recessed design sits flush with surrounding drywall, and a tight 1/16" reveal creates a minimal seam that blends into the surface once painted.
Fixed hinges support multiple opening orientations in wall applications. Touch latches with integrated safety chains come standard, and optional locks are available for projects requiring added security.

Why Should You Use the ADC-F1?
- Maintain a Seamless Drywall Finish: The recessed inlay design, concealed hardware, and narrow 1/16" (1.6 mm) reveal allow the panel to sit flush within the drywall assembly. Once taped and painted, it blends into the surrounding surface without disrupting the wall or ceiling plane.
- Accommodate Multiple Installation Orientations: In wall applications, the panel can open left-to-right, right-to-left, or top-to-bottom, giving installers flexibility around framing and service layouts. For ceiling installations, latch placement can be positioned for easier operation and access.
- Support Standard and Oversized Openings: Single-leaf doors can be manufactured up to a 160" (4064 mm) perimeter. For larger wall openings, the ADC-F1 offers a double-door configuration. It provides a wide, clear opening without a visible centre bar, maintaining a consistent appearance.
- Ensure Controlled and Secure Access: Touch latches and integrated safety chains come standard to help manage door movement during maintenance. Larger doors are equipped with additional latches, and optional lock upgrades are available when restricted access is required.
- Integrate with Standard Drywall Practices: The ADC-F1 is ready to tape, mud, and paint, allowing it to be finished using typical drywall methods.
Installation Instructions
- Plan Your Opening: Identify your installation location and note stud and joist positions. Measure the inside frame dimensions and add 3/8" (9 mm) to each side for your rough opening size.
- Mark and Cut the Opening: Draw two perpendicular baselines on your wall or ceiling, keeping them 1¼"–4" (32–102 mm) from any stud or joist. Double-check that lines are square, then cut a clean opening with a drywall saw or utility knife.
- Secure the Panel: Pass the access panel through the opening, pull it back firmly, and screw it into the panel frame through the drywall. Space screws no more than 4" (102 mm) apart.
- Finish and Test the Installation: Confirm the door opens correctly, then apply drywall compound around the frame. Wipe down the frame and door with a damp cloth once dry.
- Do a Final Safety Check: Install the safety cable to complete the installation.
Whether you're planning new construction or coordinating interior finishing, the ADC-F1 integrates easily into standard drywall systems.
