ADC-F3 Drywall Inlay Panel for Wall Tiling
The ADC-F3 Drywall Inlay Panel for Wall Tiling by FF Systems is a recessed, tile-ready access solution for wall assemblies requiring concealed openings. Built with a welded aluminum frame and a drywall-faced door panel, it is designed to accept tile directly, keeping the finished surface clean and uninterrupted.
This drywall inlay panel sits flush with the wall, lining up perfectly with grout lines and the surrounding tile. There's no visible hardware once installed and finished, making it suitable for commercial, institutional, and multi-residential projects that prioritize aesthetics.
The ADC-F3 comes standard with moisture- and mildew-resistant greenboard inlay, ensuring durability in washrooms, healthcare facilities, commercial kitchens, and other high-humidity environments. This access panel is compatible with ½" and ⅝" drywall and intended for wall applications only. It's available in standard sizes up to 24" x 24", with custom sizing offered for larger openings.

Why Should You Use the ADC-F3?
- Seamless Integration into Tile Layouts: The drywall inlay design allows tile to be installed directly onto the panel surface, aligning with surrounding grout joints. This results in a near-invisible access solution that keeps the design exactly as envisioned.
- Simplified Installation and Finishing: Because the door is fully removable, installers can tile the panel separately before final placement. This streamlines finishing work and reduces the risk of tile misalignment during installation.
- Reliable Performance for Moisture-Prone Areas: The greenboard inlay resists moisture and mildew, making it well-suited for Canadian commercial and institutional projects where durability in humid conditions is important.
- Controlled, Safe Access: Touch latches provide clean, hardware-free operation, while integrated safety chains prevent the door from swinging unexpectedly.
- Custom Sizing for Project Flexibility: With custom sizes available up to 24" x 36", the ADC-F3 can be tailored to meet project-specific service access requirements without compromising layout design.
Installation Steps
- Mark the Location: Choose the installation spot and note nearby studs and joists. Measure the inside frame dimensions and add 3/8" (9 mm) to each side.
- Cut the Opening: Draw two perpendicular lines on the wall or ceiling, 1¼"–4" (32–102 mm) from any stud or joist. Mark the opposite sides, verify all lines are square, then cut a clean opening.
- Secure the Panel: Remove the door hatch and fit the frame separately. When installing into a wall, position the unit with the latches at the top. Slide the frame through the opening and pull it back firmly into place. Drive screws into the panel frame, spacing them no more than 4" (102 mm) apart.
- Apply the Tile: Test that the door opens correctly, then apply tile separately to the hatch and wall.
- Install the Safety Cable: Wipe the frame and door clean with a damp cloth to remove any grout, then install the safety cable.
The ADC-F3 lets you keep tile lines clean while keeping plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems accessible when needed. It simplifies coordination between trades while protecting the finished appearance of the space.
