The Ontario Line Project Gains $10.9 Billion in Provincial Funding

Go Transit
The GO Transit is a regional public transit that serves the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. It merged with Metrolinx in 2006 to combine its strategies for improving train transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

The Ontario Line Project
The Ontario Line construction start date took place on April 19, 2019. It was funded with $10.9 Billion by the Ontario provincial government as the estimated price of the whole project.
This project shall comprise a 15.6-kilometre subway line that will provide the city with 15 new stations running from the Exhibition Place in Ontario to the Ontario Science Center. There will be significant differences in transportation once the Ontario Line Project finishes, such as the 70-minute travel time from one end to the other decreases to only 30 minutes which is a huge difference in travel time.
Completing this project will also pave the way for more travel options, including Lines 1 and 2 of the TTC, Additional Go Transit Rail lines, and the Eglinton Crosstown LRT. The project estimates that it will board about 388,000 passengers daily with the chance of reducing rush hour crowding in the busy hours by 22% at Bloor/Yonge Station, 16% at Eglington Station, and 14% at Union Station.
The Ontario Line Project is another worthwhile high-scale project by Canada that works for the benefit of its citizen's livelihood.

- Pape
- Cosburn
- Horncliffe Park
- Flemingdon Park
- Science Center
This project shall provide 40 more travel options to passengers, including the following:
- To Lakeshore West, Lakeshore East, and Stouffville GO Train Services
- To the TTC's Line 1 and Line 2 subways
- To Line 5 (Eglinton Crosstown LRT)
- To streetcar lines at 10 Ontario Line stations
- To bus services at 12 Ontario Line stations
